Two women go to a party together that is being held in a fourth floor flat. They have been friends since they were at school and are very close. The women are drinking and dancing for an hour but then they decide to sit down and chat. One of the women confides in the other that she has done something terrible and that she has been seeing the other woman's boyfriend behind her back. The two of them start arguing and are asked to leave by the host. They leave the flat but continue arguing at the top of the stairs outside the flat. The woman who has found out that her boyfriend has cheated on her screams at the other woman that she hates her and wants her dead. She shouts at her that"I could kill you right now". She has a bottle of beer in her hand which she smashes and then thrusts towards the other woman catching her arm and cutting it. This makes the other woman stumble and fall backwards, but since she is standing at the top of a flight of stairs she falls badly and ends up breaking both her arms and her right leg and fracturing several ribs. She needs several months of physical therapy and is signed off work for six months. The woman that threatened her states when the police arrive that she only meant to hurt her a little bit and never expected her to suffer this level of injury.Is the woman that used the bottle guilty of any of these criminal offences?
